WHAT IS PLASMA CUTTING?
A plasma cutter pushes a gas such as compressed air, nitrogen, oxygen or argon through a constriction and electrifies it, creating a plasma jet. The plasma jet, as hot as 50,000 degrees, is pushed out of a plasma cutting torch, pierces the metal being cut, melts the immediate area and blows the molten metal away. Plasma cutting provides faster cutting speeds and higher quality cuts than when cutting with oxy-fuel.
